Omer Toprak, 25-years-old, is currently employed by Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga but is now being looked at by Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United according to the Daily Star.
Toprak was born in Germany and signed for his local club before moving to Freiburg as a youngster in 2005. He would played 68 first-team league games for the club before the defender moved on to Bayer Leverkusen in 2011. At the German giants he has established himself as one of the Bundesliga’s best defenders, playing over 80 league matches for the club.
Toprak’s career actually suffered a major set back in 2009 when he was involved in a go-karting crash in which he suffered severe burns and a long injury lay-off. However, the two-footed Turkish international is now highly coveted by a number of Premier League clubs who are all in the market in January to bolster their defensive options.
Toprak has earned 23 Turkish caps, despite playing some of his youth football with the German national side and the £12m rated defender will now have some decisions to make about the direction of his future. Toprak has a contract till 2018 with Leverkusen but whilst they are hopeful of holding onto their player it may become difficult if Premier League sides step up their interest.
